Go behind the scenes to discover how our facility recovers energy from waste
Staffordshire Energy Recovery Facility is flinging open its doors on Saturday 30th September, offering a rare opportunity for the public to see how the state of the art piece of engineering works.
The annual Wonder Day is in its third year and is always a sell-out. The organisers are urging anyone interested to book their tickets sooner rather than later.
Hilary Hampton, Communications and Education Manager for Veolia said “We love opening our doors to the public as it gives everyone the opportunity to learn about how the plant works. It is a fun day out for the family as you get an in-depth tour of the facility and see how we divert 340,000 tonnes of waste from landfill to make a useful resource and power 66,000 homes each year.
‘If you would like to join us we are open from 10 am to 2 pm and you can book your tour in hourly slots. Please note the Wonder Day is free and is only suitable for children aged five years or over.
